The baby is on the way and my wife turns to me with a cool piece of furniture for the nursery on instagram.

“Yeah, Dad taught me to do all those sort of things”

And just like that I was wrist deep in saw dust on an apartment balcony making again. It had been years since doing anything like it but I was reminded of the mediative affect of making something with my own hands.

Eleven years later, in our own house with a large workshop out the back and im building things I could only dream of on the balcony.

On my travels I met some very cool people including local builders who started keeping me stocked with timber out of old houses are Canberra. So now not only making things, but making them with the most beautiful Australian hardwoods getting a third chance a life!
